Dan Jarvis

Retired Army SFC Dan Jarvis was deployed to combat zones in Iraq 2006-2007 and Afghanistan in 2011-2012 as an infantry squad leader.   During both deployments, he received blast injuries: in Iraq from indirect fire artillery by way of a 122mm mortar round, and in Afghanistan first from an exploding RPG round and then two months later an improvised explosive device blast.  Upon returning from Afghanistan, Dan struggled with insomnia, depression, and PTSD.  He drank himself to sleep most nights and nearly took his own life in March 2013.  However, when another Soldier from his former platoon took his own life, it was that event that saved Dan’s life.  Dan medically retired in 20014 and left military service.

Dan met a woman soon after retirement from the Army that would guide him on a search for answers and solutions. Dan married Gwinnell in April of 2016.  Through a failed search for answers with the VA, he continued his search – having a profound experience with an alternative treatment.  Between two combat deployments, approximately 20 of his brother soldiers have taken their own lives.  Now he is equipped with his story and solutions.  22ZERO was created to close the loop for those who need help.  They are already seeing success stories from their mission.
